Volunteer with SPE

Much of the work of the Society is accomplished through the efforts of dedicated volunteers. Thousands of volunteers around the world provide the energy that makes the Society function. SPE is grateful to these members and encourages other members to consider volunteering.

When you become a volunteer, you have the opportunity to use your knowledge and experience to influence the programs and other SPE activities that drive SPE's mission. As a volunteer, you can also enhance your leadership skills while meeting and working with other SPE members from across the globe.

There are a variety of opportunities to choose from!

Numerous opportunities are available at both the local and international level that allow you to contribute in an area of interest. Committees vary in size and reflect geographic, corporate, and technical diversity. Most standing committee appointments are made between June and August, and program committee appointments for events are made throughout the year. Local sections typically welcome volunteers all year long to assist with various activities.

Professional members: Getting started is easy. First, simply review detailed descriptions of the volunteer opportunities. Once you have selected the opportunities of interest to you, complete an application. You will then be considered for the volunteer opportunities you selected as openings arise.

Student members: Please contact your student chapter to let them know you are interested in volunteering for student chapter activities.
