Operator White Nile Operating Co., Petronas, Oil and Natural Gas Corp., and Sudapet commenced production from the Muglad basin in Block 5A of the southwestern part of Sudan. Current production is at 30,000 BOPD and is anticipated to increase to 50,000 BOPD by the end of the year.
Operator Total, Chevron Overseas Congo, and Soc. Nationale des Pétroles du Congo discovered oil in water depths ranging from 600 to 900 m in the Moho-Bilondo exploration permit. The permit is located approximately 80 km offshore the Republic of Congo.
Melrose Resources reported that the West Khilala No. 2 well in the El Mansoura Concession in Egypt’s Nile Delta encountered a gross hydrocarbon column of 128 ft. In addition, the West Dikirnis No. 2 well in the El Mansoura Concession encountered a gross pay column of 149 ft.
Forum Energy reported a gas discovery with estimated reserves at 20 Tcf off the northwest coast of Palawan Island in the Philippines in the GSEC101 license area.
PetroChina made several gas discoveries in the northwestern Tarim basin with wells in Blocks Kuche, Tazhong, and Tabei. Estimated gas reserves in the Tarim basin are 353 Tcf.
Operator Santos, Singapore Petroleum Sampang, Cue Sampang, and PT Petrogas Oyong Jatim encountered a gross gas column of 141 m on the Wortel-1 exploration well. The well, located offshore East Java, Indonesia, tested at 18.5 MMcf/D.
Operator Thai PTT E&P found oil and gas on Block M9 in Myanmar. The Zatila-1 discovery is located in the Gulf of Mataban, approximately 250 km south of Yangon. One interval tested at 16 Mcf/D of gas and 30 BOPD.
Soco reported test results from Well CNV-4X ST on the Ca Ngu Vang structure on Block 9-2 offshore Vietnam. The well flowed at approximately 7,050 BOEPD.
Operator Santos, Shell, and Osaka Gas Australia encountered hydrocarbons on the Evans Shoal South-1 exploration well located in Permit NT/P48, 278 km northwest of Darwin in water depths of approximately 100 m.
Operator Beach Petroleum and Cooper Energy reported an oil discovery on the Callawonga 1 well, located approximately 7 km from the Christies production facility. The well tested at 2,400 BOPD.
Operator ConocoPhillips, Eni, and BG Group confirmed discovery of a gas/condensate field in Blocks 30/6 and 30/7 in the U.K. sector of the North Sea. Exploration Well 30/6-6 encountered a hydrocarbon column of more than 2,000 ft. Additionally, the companies reported a gas/condensate discovery in the Central North Sea that straddles Blocks P011 and P0032 30/7a.
Operator Talisman Energy Norge found more gas on the 15/12-12 Rev well. The find, located 6 km south of the Varg field, tested at 1.2 MMcf/D of gas.
Ithaca Energy, EWE Aktiengesellschaft, and Zeus Petroleum encountered 632 ft of gross oil-bearing sandstones with the 14/18b-15 well in the Outer Moray Firth area, located on the U.K. Continental Shelf in the North Sea.
Saudi Aramco found gas in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. The Kassab-1 well, located 50 km south of the Ghawar field, tested at 16.2 MMcf/D.
Oil and Gas Development Co. discovered oil and gas in the Kohat District of the Northwest Frontier Province in Pakistan. The reservoir is expected to produce 4,000 BOPD and 12 MMcf/D of gas.
DNO found oil on the Tawke No. 1A well in northern Iraq and completed the Tasour No. 22 ST development well in Yemen. The Tawke 1A well tested at 5,000 BOPD, and the Tasour 22 ST well tested at 6,440 BOPD.
Calvalley Petroleum encountered a 32-m oil column on Well South Hiswah No. 1 in Yemen. The well, located in Block 9, has not been tested.
Shell, Chevron, BP, and Nexen announced plans to develop the Great White, Tobago, and Silvertip fields using the deepest spar production facility in the world, the Perdido Regional Development host. The development concept calls for a common processing hub near the Great White discovery in Block 857 of the Gulf of Mexico (GOM). The Tobago and Silvertip finds are located in Blocks 859 and 815, respectively.
Operator BP, Anadarko, and Devon Energy announced an oil discovery on the Kaskida prospect in the Keathley Canyon Block 292 in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM). The well, drilled in 5,860 ft of water to a total depth of approximately 32,500 ft, encountered 800 net ft of hydrocarbon-bearing sands.
Mariner Energy logged pay on the High Island 116 No. 5ST1 well in the GOM. The well encountered approximately 540 ft of net vertical pay in 13 sands.
Operator Energy Partners and Callon Petroleum announced a gas find on the East Cameron 109 No. 5 well in the GOM. Approximately 85 ft of pay was logged.
Operator Petrobras, BG Group, and Petrogal found oil on Block BM-S-11 in the Santos basin offshore Brazil. The Tupi well, in water depths of 2126 m, tested at 4,900 BOPD.
Petrolifera Petroleum tested the RN.PM a-1013 well located onshore in Argentina’s Neuquen basin in the Puesto Morales Block. The well flowed at 3,100 BOPD.
Pebercan reported test results on the Santa Cruz 302 well in Cuba’s
Block 7 at 3,000 BOPD.
